Hard copy is easier to read than information on a computer/mobile phone screen
Ever tried reading a detailed e-newsletter from a company on your phone while on the way home from work on the bus? After a while, your eyes begin to hurt.
Reading anything in its printed form is always easier on the eye. If you make your printed materials the right size, chances are you’ll have people reading it on their way to work along with the morning paper or favourite gossip mag.
Online filters stopping your message from being received
All people have filters on their email. Some may not even know it either. If they have a particular setting, then you can be sure that your email to them is either not received or in their spam folder, which is not a good look.
Handing out information when necessary
If you are at a trade show and have a number of prospective clients, the last thing you want to be doing is directing them to the nearest computer for them to look at your products and services online. You need to be able to hand them information about your business thatʼs memorable, then and there.
Point of difference
Many businesses may not bother printing high quality brochures and booklets anymore and this is where you can stand out from the rest. In an age where lots of things arecommunicated by email, receiving something in the post can be a bit of a novelty and will be a real point of difference for your customers, helping to keep your business front of mind. Your competitors may be in their inbox, but you’re on their fridge or coffee table.
The high gloss look cannot be achieved using e-communications
Itʼs a fact that you cannot achieve that high gloss, slick look of a printed magazine or brochure with an e-newsletter or email. Your products will look their best on high quality printed paper in the hands of your prospective clients rather than on their computer screen which is covered in finger prints. If you are having your collateral created by the same people that do your business card printing and you don’t feel that it has this impact, then look for another printer. Printed materials need to be made using high quality paper and design elements in order for them to make a strong impression.
Striking a healthy balance
Of course, there is no denying the power of e-communications. They are a very important element to any marketing campaign and should never be left out of the equation. What’s important is striking a healthy balance between the two.
While e-communications have their place, so do newsletter mail outs.
