3 Healthy Vegetable Juicing Recipes

Vegetable juicing recipes when consumed on a regular basis go a long way to supporting our health and well being. So here are 3 wonderful recipes that you can make at home with a description of just a few of the many benefits that juice can provide.

Juice Recipe #1 – Beet Blast
1 beet
1 apple (to dilute)

A few recent studies have shown that beet juice is a great aid to exercise if we drink it on a regular basis. A study conducted at Exeter University gave 500 ml of beet juice to a group of men for six days in a row. After the six days all the men found that they could cycle for longer than they could before these six day. Some of the men could actually exercise of 16% longer! All though not completely sure why, the researchers believe that the high nitrate content in beet juice explains this improvement in endurance. Nitrates help to slow down the rate at which muscle burn oxygen therefore allowing muscle to perform for longer before fatiguing.

Juice Recipe #2 – Kale and Broccoli Bonanza
2 cups of broccoli
2 cups of kale
2 apple (to sweeten)

Putting kale and broccoli in your vegetable juicing recipes is a great way to help you detox. Broccoli and kale are an excellent source of two antioxidants called indoles and sulforaphane that stimulate the liver to dramatically increase the production of natural detoxification enzymes in the body. These enzymes are one of the most potent ways we know of for helping to clear harmful chemicals and toxic heavy metals out of our cells.

Juice Recipe #3 – Plain O’ Carrot Juice
8 large carrots

Carrots are one of natures finest sources of powerful antioxidants called carotenes and carrot juice is actually a better source of carotenes than actually eating carrots. Many of the carotenes in carrots are bound to the fibers and very few are actually released for digestion just by eating them. However, a juicing machine will break down many of these fibers and release the carotenes so that they can pour forth into the juice!

Research has found that carotenes are cancer fighters in the test tube and may go on to explain why large population studies always find that those with the most carotenes in their diet are significantly less likely to die from cancer than those with the least in their diets. Those whose diets are high in carotenes are also considerably less likely to develop heart disease too!
